Crash

Cant start game on iPad 2 and when I am on the extracting files screen at 25% completion it crashes please fix

Does Not Run on iPad Mini

In fairness to square, I should have read the product description more closely. If you have a Mini 2, 3, or 4 the devs say you will be fine. Dont buy if you have a 1st generation iPad mini.

100 percent yes

This game completely exceeded my expectations of what FF9 would look and play like on an Apple device. I own all of the Final Fantasy games for various systems, and I like that I can now carry them around with me on my iPad. Havent had any glitches or problems of any sort with FF9 for iOS. If you enjoyed playing through this game on PS1 or are a fan of Final Fantasy at all, then you definitely need to download the iOS version of nine.

Broken

I was really looking forward to playing this game, but every time i launch it on my iPad 2 it crashes. I cant even get past the initializing screen.

Awesome

Having listened to my husband talk about this being his favorite Final Fantasy game and watched him play it on his Play Station, I was skeptical about playing it on my iPhone 6. I have to say, this is one of the best ports that Ive played and I throughly enjoyed it. I think its even safe to say that Im finally beginning to understand my husbands love for it. Cant wait to play through it again!

Just awesome!

Playing this on my iPad Pro and loving it. Definitely the best port of a square Enix final fantasy. Hope they do more good ports like this one. I played this on PlayStation when it first came out and many other final fantasies. All their ports have had too many issues until this one. The people that worked on this in Thailand did an incredible job of porting this. Please make more quality ports for final fantasy games, and thank you so much for this one!!!! With quality ports and keeping them up to date I would happily buy the whole series.

Best game ever!

First final fantasy game I played and felt good to relive the moments I played through it . So far so good nothing wrong. Next bring Parasite Eve to mobile!

One big issue (easy to fix)

This game is just as good as I remember however the ease of use button mashing on the console does not translate well to the touch screen for people without bony fingers making it difficult to select players, attacks, talk options and so on. Im fine with most of these as its something I can work around however there is one issue that is really stoping me from giving this amazing game 5 stars. There needs to be a way to set the auto attack command to something other than just the generic attack such as there is in the iOS version of FFIV. Having this option would make the endless battles we are in a lot less tedious giving the player more time to just have fun. Auto-attack makes battle nice unless one of your auto attackers is a Mage who hits for 20 points of damage and triggers a 200 point damage counter attack, if we could set his auto-command to say defend if were trying to conserve MP or fire if were trying to destroy an enemy that would be an outstanding improvement. Please add this option, I really love this game and this option would be the cherry on the cake.

Finaly

This is my favorite game of all time.

Still no controller support

I like this release very much. The graphics are crisp and clean, and the overall experience might even be better than the original! The only issue I have is with the lack of controller support. The buttons on the nimbus controller I have do not work, only the left analog stick does (and that seems to be the case for everyone else). So I am really looking forward to them fixing this issue as soon as possible. Maybe a better review then!

Great game with bugs

I really enjoyed playing when it originally came out. However, when I purchased it on my iPad I ran into a problem with the combat in the game. It seems to take forever to load battles in the game. And since this is a jrpg that means there are a lot of battles in the game. Please fix this.

Wont extract files when I open it

Wont work on some iPads be warned Ive been calling support everywhere to no avail

Glad I can Play my Fav FF on mobile

Im super happy that they put it out. It was worth every penny. It wasnt that much and the graphics look amazing. This was the first Final Fantasy game I ever played and is my favorite of them all. It does freeze on me every now and then but it still is amazing! LOVE IT SO MUCH

Controler support broken

Please bring full support for MFI controllers. Love the game but only giving it 1 star so maybe square enix can see my comment. Game itself is the best nothing was changed excent for an upgrade to the graphics

Still no MFi controller support

If you want to play this game the way it was originally intended, youre going to have to wait for Square Enix to take their sweet time to push an update. Theyve already updated multiple times and ignored this issue. Do yourself a favor and hold onto your money until they fix this issue.

Please support Controllers

I bought a Steel Series Nimbus controller to use with FF VII and was excited at the prospect of using it with FF IX. I, like the other reviewer love the game but am giving it 1 star in hopes that this is included with the next update.

Controller support is STILL broken

Every time theres an update I check to see if controller support has been fixed. Nope!

MFI support fixed!

It now plays like a dream with the Nimbus controller. The most polished Final Fantasy port so far.

Excellent

Only fix needed is the frame rate issues in battle and world map, and in on a 6S plus !

MFi controller is better, but wrong

On the Nimbus, the A and B buttons are backwards. This leads to instinctively closing a menu you meant to open, selecting an attack you meant to not perform, etc. Unless you can train your brain to forget the PlayStation version of this game, Id hold off until Square fixes this. They get 3 stars for effort.
